My account was suspended. What should I do?

Why Stocktwits accounts get restricted or suspended, and how to request a review from the moderation team.

Updated 1 min read

Stocktwits uses a combination of automated systems and human moderators to keep the community safe. When an account breaks the rules, it may be restricted, suspended, or permanently banned at the moderation team's discretion.

Common reasons for a suspension

  • Abuse or harassment — personal attacks, threats, or hate speech.

  • Spam — repeated identical posts, off-topic ticker tagging, or unsolicited promotion.

  • Bot-like behavior — copy-paste posting, mass posting, or scripted activity.

  • Off-platform recruitment — posting Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, or other private group links.

  • Manipulation or deception — coordinated pump schemes, false profit guarantees, impersonation, or using multiple accounts to amplify posts.

  • Inappropriate avatars — nudity, violence, or offensive imagery.

Review the full House Rules to see exactly what isn't allowed.

How to request a review

  1. Read the House Rules and think about which post or behavior may have triggered the action.

  2. Contact Stocktwits Support from the email address on your account.

  3. Include your username and a short, respectful explanation of why you believe the decision should be reviewed.

Don't create a new account. Opening new accounts to get around a suspension is itself a rule violation and can make a ban permanent.
